Humble Like This Child

At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" He called a child, whom he put among them, and said, "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me."

"If any of you put a stumbling block before one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be better for you if a great millstone were fastened around your neck and you were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe to the world because of stumbling blocks! Occasions for stumbling are bound to come, but woe to the one by whom the stumbling block comes!"

Matthew 18:1-7

Then little children were being brought to him in order that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples spoke sternly to those who brought them, but Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs." And he laid his hands on them and went on his way.

Matthew 19:13-15

During the Christmas season when you go to church you notice more and more people there. And there may even be a time at one of the services that someone is sitting in "your" place. Has the thought ever come to you to tell them they should attend throughout the year, not just Christmas? Just remember, it is a good thing whenever a person is drawn to any gathering that celebrates the birth of Jesus. Even if a Christian is only touched once a year, the touching is still worth it, and maybe at some Christmas eve service or some quiet morning, the touch of Christ will take.

Christmas can bring out the child in all of us,

and all children are welcomed into Christ.
