The Potter’s Hand

The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: "Come, go down to the potter’s house, and there I will let you hear my words." So I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was working at his wheel. The vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as seemed good to him.

Then the word of the LORD came to me: Can I not do with you, O house of Israel, just as this potter has done? says the LORD. Just like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.

Jeremiah 18:1-6

How is your attitude towards life? Remember that attitudes are the way we choose to think about things, and those attitudes will cause us to react in other ways. Attitudes are learned and absorbed, and therefore they can be changed. If your attitude is negative, self-pitying, and bitter thinking – it needs to be changed, but only God can do that for you. We are the clay. He is the potter. We can change our attitudes, our actions, and our reactions. Our vessels are far from finished, and they will not be finished until we die on this earth. Put yourself in The Potter’s hands and He will work on you. He will shape your attitudes and actions. If you allow yourself to be molded, you with see Christ-attitudes, Christ-actions, and Christ-reactions.

A change in the heart brings a change in behavior.
