"Only One Thing"

Now as they went on their way, he entered a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to what he was saying. But Martha was distracted by her many tasks; so she came to him and asked, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her then to help me." But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need of only one thing. Mary was chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her."

Luke 10:38-42

Do not be distracted. Jesus is the King. Jesus is the reason we are Christians, and He is the only reason we should celebrate Christmas. We should serve and commune. But we need grace. It is easier to serve than to commune. Keep yourself open to God. Let Him work through you. Read the Bible. Think about what it says about people in history. In most cases, people from the Bible were just like you and me. Some were good, some were bad. Some were strong, and some were weak. Some believed, others questioned. They were all human, and they found ways to serve.

Look for ways to serve God and to commune with Him.

To keep your life in balance,

lean on the Lord.
