Keep Yourselves

In The Love Of God

But you, beloved, must remember the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; for they said to you, "In the last time there will be scoffers, indulging in their own ungodly lusts." It is these worldly people, devoid of the Spirit, who are causing divisions. But you, beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit; keep yourselves in the love of God; look forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. And have mercy on some who are wavering; save others by snatching them out of the fire; and have mercy on still others with fear, heating even the tunic defiled by their bodies.

Jude 17-23

Is the romance still going on in your relationship with Jesus? When we first came in faith to Christ, we experienced the joy of knowing our sins were forgiven and we were adopted into His family. Our hearts were full and over flowing with love for the Lord. We longed to please Him. As time passed, however, the zeal of our first love may have begun to cool. That is why we need to take to heart the words of Jude in his letter. Keep your own self in the love of God. We nurture that love when we focus on pleasing Him instead of ourselves. Keep the romance going.

To renew your love for Christ,

review His love for you.
