I Sought The Lord,

And He Answered Me

I sought the LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. Look to him, and be radiant; so your faces shall never be ashamed. This poor soul cried, and was heard by the LORD, and was saved from every trouble.

The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

O taste and see that the LORD is good; happy are those who take refuge in him.

Psalm 34:4-8

When we are exhausted by our efforts, when we are bewildered by our problems, when we are wounded by our friends, when we are surrounded by our foes, we can hide ourselves in God. There is no safety in this world. If we were to find safety here, we would never know the joy of God’s love and protection. We would miss the happiness for which we were made. The only safe place is God Himself. When storm clouds gather and calamities loom, we must run into His presence in prayer and remain there.

He gives us a place where we remain safe.

Safety is not found in the absence of danger

but in the presence of God.
