"You are like light for the whole world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl; instead he puts it on the lampstand, where it gives light for everyone in the house. In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

People admire and respect people who have purpose, heart, balance, gratitude and joy. There is a brighter light around them, than just the light coming from themselves. These people are unique, and you and I can be just like them. We have to be committed followers of Jesus Christ in order to show that light. We do not have to show a fake cheerfulness, if we do not feel it. However, we do have to be genuine. Wherever there is hatred we have to sow love, and where there is darkness we have to provide light.

The moon reflects the radiance of the sun, and we who believe and follow our Savior can also reflect Him who is the light of the world.

A world of darkness needs the light of the gospel.
