What Shall We Do?

When an attendant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, any army with horses and chariots was around the city. His servant said, "Alas, master! What shall we do?" He replied, "Do not be afraid, for there are more with us than there are with them."

Then Elisha prayed: "O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see." So, the LORD opened the eyes of the servant, and he saw; the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

2 Kings 6:15-18

The servant saw that the mountain was full of horses and chariots. The Lord's army was there to protect them. We sometimes ask God to give us some kind of reassurance that He is near, and sometimes He does. But that is the exception. He wants us to learn to trust His promise that He is with us. No matter how frightening the situation, God's people always have more on their side than the enemy has on his.

Faith knows that God is working behind the scenes.
