Victory Comes

From The LORD

I have so many enemies, LORD, so many who turn against me! They talk about me and say, "God will not help him."

But you, O LORD, are always my shield from danger; you give me victory and restore my courage. I call to the LORD for help, and from his sacred hill he answers me.

I lie down and sleep, and all night long the LORD protects me. I am not afraid of the thousands of enemies who surround me on every side.

Come, LORD! Save me, my God! You punish all my enemies and leave them powerless to harm me. Victory comes from the LORD – may he bless his people.

Psalm 3:1-8

David found his security and his worth in God. He said that many stood against him. He heard their cruel voices and was tempted to believe them, to give way to discouragement and depression. But, He had God, and his enemies did not. So he could hold up his head with confidence. God is your shield and deliverer. He will deal with your adversaries in due time.

Meanwhile, tell God all about your troubles. Let Him be your glory. You don’t have to defend yourself. Ask Him to be your shield – to protect your heart with His overshadowing love and care. Then, like David, you can lie down in peace and sleep, though tens of thousands are against you.

No one is more secure than the one

Who is held in God’s hands.
