He strengthens those who are weak and tired. Even those who are young grow weak; young men can fall exhausted. But those who trust in the LORD for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak.

Isaiah 40:29-31

Life’s heartbreaks and tragedies can put an end to our resilience, our endurance, our nerve, and bring us to our knees. But if we put our hope in the Lord and rely on Him, He will renew our strength. The key to our endurance lies in the exchange of our limited resources for God’s limitless strength. And it is ours for the asking.

With God’s strength we can run without being weary, even when we face hectic and demanding days. With His strength we can walk through life without fainting, even though the sometimes tedious and dull routine makes the way seem dreary and long.

What an exchange we get with God’s strength to take the place of ours. God’s infinite strength for our finite weakness!

God gives strength in proportion to the strain.
