Poverty Will Attack You

I walked through the fields and vineyards of a lazy, stupid man. They were full of thorn bushes and overgrown with weeds. The stone wall around then had fallen down. I looked at this, thought about it, and learned a lesson from it: Go ahead and take your nap; go ahead and sleep. Fold your hands and rest awhile, but while you are asleep, poverty will attack you like an armed robber.

Proverbs 24:30-34

Neglect leads to loss. This also applies to our daily walk with God. If we neglect our time of prayer and fellowship with the LORD, our relationship with Him will deteriorate and we will no longer experience His favor. We should never let that happen, but we allow it to happen when we become preoccupied with anything that comes between us and Christ.

We all need to have priorities that honor God. Then we will be able to avoid the loss that comes from neglect.

If you shirk today's tasks, you increase tomorrow's burdens.
