I Will Teach You

As Jesus walked along the shore of Lake Galilee, he saw two fishermen, Simon and his brother Andrew, catching fish with a net. Jesus said to them, "Come with me, and I will teach you catch men." At once they left their nets and went with him.

Mark 1:16-18

Not only was the Son of God born in an unlikely location of unlikely parents, He chose His first followers at an unlikely place. He did not look for scholars. He did not look for brilliant military leaders, skilled orators and statesmen. He looked for ordinary people.

But fishermen have many positive traits. They have to be resourceful, courageous, and patient. They have to plan carefully and take care of their equipment.

God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary work.
