I Will Help You Speak

But Moses said, "No, LORD, don’t send me. I have never been a good speaker, and I haven’t become one since you began to speak to me. I am a poor speaker, slow and hesitant."

The LORD said to him, "Who gives man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or dumb? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? It is I, the LORD. Now, go! I will help you speak, and I will tell you what to say."

Exodus 4:10-12

No matter what our impediments, our disabilities, or our handicaps – God will use our handicaps for His Glory. His way of dealing with them may not be to remove them but to endow us with strength and use our limitations for good.

If our weaknesses cause us to seek God and rely on Him, they actually help us instead of hinder us. In fact, they become the best thing that could happen to us, because our growth in courage, power, and happiness depends on our relationship with the LORD and how much we are relying on Him.

Moses had an impediment, and Paul had an impediment. Both pleaded with God to remove the impediments but in both cases God told them His grace was sufficient.

God’s strength is best seen in our weakness.
